When: September 24, 2019, 11:00 am – 11:45 am CDT

Overview:
Attendees will explore best practices for Integrity Operating Windows (IOWs) and why they are a critical part of integrated asset management. Generally speaking, an IOW is a safe operating limit that, if exceeded, can jeopardize process equipment integrity by triggering a damage mechanism such as accelerated corrosion. Depending on the extent and duration of an IOW exceedance, the impacts may be realized quickly or surface much later in terms of reduced equipment life. Since operating parameters can change significantly over a process lifecycle, the risk of premature equipment failure due to a non-existent or inadequate IOW program increases as the facility ages.

Key Webinar Focus / Agenda:

  • The value of IOWs
  • Basic guidelines on IOW program development per API RP 584 Integrity Operating Windows
  • Critical / Standard / Informational IOWs
  • Damage mechanisms
  • Risk ranking
  • Operator response to alarms
  • Emergency responses and potential hazards
  • Best Practices for IOWs
  • Integration of IOWs and Risk Based Inspection – a key symbiotic relationship
  • The relationship between MOC and IOWs
